In this lecture, Dr Alyce Mahon explores the role of erotic desire in surrealism, and women surrealists’ provocative use of the sexual body to radically awaken the viewer to gender politics. Addressing a range of women surrealists, including Meret Oppenheim, Leonor Fini, Frida Kahlo and Mimi Parent, Mahon considers how these women both offered an alternative to the dominant modes of surrealist masculinity and paved the way for later, post 1960s, generations of feminist artists.

Dazu findet das Ganze in einem Sakralraum statt...Fabelhaft!
"Archifon I. is an interactive musical installation that was projected on to the interior of the Olomouc Baroque chapel in the Czech Republic. Visitors were invited to use laser pointers to activate more than 100 interactive audiovisual elements around the chapel. Archifon was created by Tomaš Dvorák and Dan Gregor and premiered last December at the PAF animation festival." via laughing squid
Kriegskunst? – handgeknüpfte afghanische Teppiche mit Kriegsmotiven
Während der sowjetischen Invasion in Afghanistan begannen die Afghanen Teppiche herzustellen, die Kriegsgerät abbilden. Dieses Phänomen flammte mit dem Einmarsch der USA wieder auf. US-Soldaten brachten sie als (Kriegs-) Souvenir mit nach Hause und mittlerweile werden die Teppiche als zeitgenössische afghanische Kunst in Galerien ausgestellt, von Sammlern gesammelt und im Internet verkauft.
